Shipping 

 

All the orders made during normal business hours, will be processed the following business day.  Any orders received after 5PM may be processed the day after the following business day.

 

We ship all orders using the United States Postal Service (USPS).

 

When the shipping label is generated for your purchase, you will get an email informing you of your tracking number.   If you wish to track your shipment, go to the tracking section of www.usps.com, enter the tracking number and follow any instructions at that site.  

 

Most international orders cannot be tracked outside the USA, because the postal services of other countries are not obligated to update our tracking information.  The site may tell you though when your item left the Customs area in the USA.  

 

 

 

 

USA Rates (and base rate for all orders domestic and international)

 

Priority Mail (2 -3 Days) - Shipping & Handling is calculated by total invoice value:

Invoice value from $0 to $50:  $5.95

Invoice value from $50.01 to $100:  $6.95

Invoice value from $100.01 to $200:  $9.95

Invoice value over $200:  $16.95

No matter how many items are purchased, the maximum Priority Mail cost is $16.95

Your regular postage and handling rate is automatically calculated

 

 

 

 

UPGRADE TO USA EXPRESS MAIL OR ANY SALE  OUTSIDE THE USA - SEE BELOW

 

NOTE:  You only need to Add this ONCE regardless of the number of items purchased 

 

If you upgrade your shipping preference and for any international purchase, you will see the additional shipping amount within your invoice description as a separate line item, then a subtotal, then the standard shipping amount below the subtotal.  This is correct.  The additional cost is over and above the standard calculated shipping and handling cost based on the costs below.  This will be more clear when you actually see your shopping cart.  Remember though, you can always edit your shopping cart before completing your transaction and paying for your order.

 

 

 

Express Mail (within the USA)

(Overnight to most areas):  Additional   $ 15 

(Not all shipping destinations are available for overnight shipping.  Inquisitive Designs Jewelry cannot be held responsible for certain locations which do not have an overnight guarantee.  If we do not ship and in-stock item within 24 business hours of an Express  Mail order, we will refund half of the USPS Express Mail cost incurred by you, and your item(s) will still be shipped Express Mail at the earliest possible time).  We are located in Portland, Oregon, USA (zip code 97223) and many destinations are eligible for at least a 3PM next day guaranteed delivery time, if not 12 noon .

 

Please remember particularly for Express Mail orders:  The clock starts the next business day.  If you purchase before 5PM on a Wednesday, your item will be sent by 5PM on the Thursday (providing this is a normal business day).  Most Express Mail orders enjoy overnight delivery, but there are many destinations that cannot guarantee this.  We try to inform you if your package will not be guaranteed overnight, but will only know this AFTER processed at the post office.  The post office will be the final word on whether overnight delivery is guaranteed.

Shipment Insurance  

Please note that if your shipment is outside the USA and you choose the USA insurance option, your insurance payment will be refunded and the shipment will not be insured.  Please make sure you select the correct insurance option.

Mailing restrictions or suspensions to countries outside the USA        

Please note that Priority International is not available to all countries.  Also, there are some countries the USA has mailing restrictions or suspensions.  If you pay for International shipping from a country the USA has a restriction or suspension, we will not know this until the time your order is processed for shipping.  We will contact you to make other arrangements within the limitations of international shipping laws.   

 

If you are already aware of a restriction or suspension between the USA and your country, please contact us prior to completing payment.  We cannot circumvent international shipping laws.

NOTE A "Day" is a business day that the post office is open for business.  Saturdays depending on your area, Sundays and Holidays cannot be included in the number of expected days for delivery.

 

 

 

Lost or misdirect shipments and the claims process

True tracking door to door is only available with Express Mail (USA shipments).  All Priority Mail shipments have Delivery Confirmation included in the Shipping & Handling fees.  If a delivery confirmation has been entered by the USPS, the item will be considered successfully delivered.  No claim for a lost item can be made with Inquisitive Designs or the USPS if the item has been scanned as delivered.  This is objective proof to guard against unscrupulous or fraudulent claims.  

 

Obviously in those very rare occasions that a shipment is lost, we take legitimate claims very seriously.  If you have purchased insurance (see above section entitled Shipment Insurance) and the item was never scanned in as delivered, you will be sent replacement item.  A claim for a lost item can only be made 30 days after the date the shipping label was generated (this is also an objective and verifiable date stamp for this procedure).
